Understanding Menopause: Workshop

Whether you are peri-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal this seminar will help you understand your body better.
I will explain the transition into Menopause and beyond including hormone changes and what it affects, including –

  • Low thyroid function, Hashimoto’s
  • Belly fat, changes in how much/where we store fat reduced appetite, slow metabolism
  • Blood sugar issues, diabetes
  • Sleep issues, hot flushes
  • Changes in brain function, memory loss, anxiety, depression
  • Osteoporosis

A healthy woman can be almost symptom-free, so let’s go through how this can be achieved.  Every woman on this earth goes through Menopause; it might be when your 50 – or 30, or 60.

And that’s why it’s important to understand what’s going on sooner rather than later.

I will share with you WHY, as we get older, we seem to ‘break down more’.
Also WHY certain things can be good for someone else, and not for you, including –
eg. allergies, intolerances, something doesn’t agree with me

eg. I can’t cope with fasting, I can’t eat breakfast

eg. I feel sick after taking tablets, my tummy gurgles or gets painful, I get constipated after protein shakes

eg. why cardio can be beneficial for some but have negative effects for many!

eg. you often get cold sores, psoriasis, asthma, tonsilitis, bronchitis, back pain or joint stiffness when you wake up…..especially when you’re run down, stressed or about to go on holidays?

It all makes sense.
Most importantly, I’ll explain what you can do to change this – to really get healthy from the inside-out.
This includes ways to manage stressors/stress (actual things you can take & do) so that you can maintain your health rather than fall into a hole, again.
It is now recognised that the mind and body are one – not separate – so by treating the whole, not only will your body feel better but so will your mental and emotional health.

It’s our birthday!

We’ve just celebrated our 10th birthday at Proactive, with a party to mark the occasion.  Thanks to everyone who joined us, and to all who brought delicious food and for the lovely surprise pressies – I feel very fortunate to have such wonderful clients and friends, some who have been with me the whole 10 years!  Here’s to many more….. x Cristie.

Join us for our Fun Run on Sunday 7th October

We’re holding our own ‘New York (Mini) Marathon’ 4.2km fun run/walk – instead of 42.2km – to help Saskia fundraise for the Flinders Foundation. She’s well on her way to raising $15K for this fantastic charity, who do amazing work helping support cancer patients and their families. We’re aiming to raise at least $500 on the day.

It’ll be a fun family-focused morning, with morning tea provided.

Family, friends and dogs (on leads) welcome!

Lots of prizes including best fancy dress (New York theme), and all participants get a medal.
Keep a look out for New York landmarks along the fun-run course and take a photo at each one, tagging with #sasny18

We’ll be based at the Glenelg Baseball Club, which is the start/finish of the fun run and where we’ll have the morning tea. And a bouncy castle for the kids!
There’s heaps of free parking, plus toilets etc.

When: Sunday 7th October
Time: 8.45am for 9am run/walk start, morning tea 9.30-10.30am

Adults: $10 donation
Kids & dogs: free
Morning tea: gold coin donation please
